If you’ve been around my blog for any length of time, you’ve probably realized that the “look and feel” have changed quite a bit. I wrote a post over the summer about changes taking place on my blog with regards to content and frequency of posts, as well as some of my goals for writing. It’s been fun to look back on that post and see how much the blog has grown even just since then. I can’t wait to see what the new year will bring!
New year, same blog…but with a few changes!
I’ve always been the reflective, contemplative type (hence all this writing) and so I love the opportunity at the end of each December to take inventory of who I’ve become and where I’m headed. For this coming year, I have quite a few personal and professional goals, as well as goals for the future of this blog.
Since the trajectory of my blog is closely knit to the experience of you, my readers, it only seems appropriate to share my 2020 vision with you! I’m looking forward to hearing your feedback! Without further ado, let’s dive in…
Focus on Community
As my blog has grown, I’ve become more aware of the fact that a community has developed in this space. Blogging isn’t just about my thoughts and words, but is truly becoming a collaboration with you, my readers, characterized by mutual encouragement and support. I want to lean into this community even more this year, and I’ll be creating more opportunities for you to do likewise.
Currently, I post twice per week, on Mondays and Fridays. For those of you who would like a little more, I’m excited to share that I’m starting a newsletter! This isn’t just an email notification about new posts, it’s so much more!
In this newsletter, I’ll be sharing:
- Thoughts about food, faith, and functional medicine, exclusive to newsletter recipients
- Reader/client stories to encourage and inspire
- Information about products I love that you also may be interested in
- More about my own life, goals, and experiences
Sign-up below so you don’t miss the first newsletter! I’ll be sending them out on the 15th of each month.

You might’ve already noticed that the site has a new look! I’ve changed the theme of my blog to better represent the streamlined vision I have not only for writing, but for life in general. I’ve been really inspired by minimalism lately, and the new logo and color scheme now reflect that. I’ve cut back on some of the clutter of my site so that your experience as a reader is more focused on what really matters: content and community.
Food, Faith, and Functional Medicine
In my practice, I strive to approach wellness through a holistic lens, taking mental/emotional, environmental, and spiritual factors into account as well as physical health. As in my work with patients, I emphasize intuitive eating and functional medicine. This year on the blog, I’ll be streamlining my focus on these two subjects, incorporating more of the latter than I have previously. (If you’re unfamiliar with those paradigms in health, you can read more about them here.) In addition to food and medicine, I’ll be sharing more about other ways to cultivate balance in life by simplifying our schedules, streamlining our priorities, and cleaning out the unnecessary things so we have more time and energy for what really matters.
Overall, I’m eager and excited to see what 2020 will bring!
